On classical solutions for multi-dimensional Compressible Navier-Stokes system with large oscillations

Abstract 【摘要】
In this talk, I will survey some of the recent progress on global (in time) existence and regularity of solutions to the multi-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations with possible large oscillations and vacuum. In particular, blow-up of smooth solutions and regularity of weak solutions of Lion-Feireisl with small total energy but possible large oscillations will be discussed. Surprising new phenomena on the behavior of solutions are observed. I will also discuss the roles played by the vacuum and new techniques developed for this theory. Both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional theory will be presented.
